"The first time I worked with the Crossland Group was when I was selected to be the Vice President of Leadership Talent Management and Organization Development at Boeing. It was supposed to be a two-year rotational assignment, as a business leader moving into human resources, to shape a new function for Boeing called 'Leadership Development.' Two years turned into seven years, and the assignment morphed into much more. Given the visibility and urgency of landing on my feet quickly, in an unfamiliar area, with a very fragmented team, I reached out to Crossland for help and partnership.
The Crossland team worked with me directly over that seven-year period I spent in HR, and partnered with me to shape and execute an incredibly strong "leadership and talent management platform" strategy and execution plan that stands today as the foundational framework for the leadership and culture expectations at Boeing.
They also worked with me during the three years I lead HR in Boeing Commercial, where we put a solid HR team and people strategy in place to help enable a strong future for the Boeing Company.
I chose to work with the Crossland Group because they were all about partnering with me to help me build my own know-how and to help me build a strong team inside Boeing. They were able to ensure I had the necessary tools/knowledge to be an effective leader during that transitional time. What I liked about Crossland is that they are not a lot of flash—they are all about organic growth, behind-the-scenes work, helping the leader to be a better leader, and providing a toolkit of knowledge to help that leader be successful. I like the fact that they are from the “outside,” and it gave me a chance to see my world through their eyes.
Simply put—if I find myself in an assignment that requires reshaping, turning around a business, or building a strong integrated team that is revolutionizing a business, I won’t work with another consulting firm. To borrow a phrase from a song … the Crossland team has truly been 'the wind beneath my wings' over the past several years. They were, and are, my ‘secret recipe for ensuring success’ for my team and for my business…"
