Approach to Transformation
Mobilizing People

How do you inspire and engage your staff and stakeholders to co-create a future together? How do you influence staff and departments that you do not have managerial accountability over? How do you convene and empower your stakeholders?

Crossland has been in the business of helping leaders and teams mobilize for change for more than a decade. Change is non-linear by nature, therefore central to any change process is the story behind the change, which creates a shared need among constituents. Enabling the change and making it real require a relentless focus on leader accountability, measuring impact, and investing in staff/board/donor/partner engagement.

Mobilizing people requires passion and commitment beyond the initial effort, as motivation often stalls at its most critical junctures. As such, we are guided by six principles to leading change:

1. Do no harm and take a holistic/systems approach

2. All change involves personal choice

3. There is no such thing as instantaneous transformation

4. Connect change to business strategy

5. Engagement and alignment breeds commitment

6. Any good change effort increases capacity to face change in the future

"I've never worked with a firm that has been so focused on the sustainability of change—both from a structure and people perspective."
